The Google Arts and Culture app recently rolled out new 3D-modelled, augmented reality filters based on iconic paintings, objects, and accessories from all over the world.
The feature allows users to turn their selfies into self-portraits featuring Van Gogh, Frida Kahlo, and the famous Girl with a Pearl Earring. Other filter options include a traditional Samurai helmet and a remarkable Ancient Egyptian Necklace.
According to the press release, users can explore the artifacts in high-quality detail from every angle, while each filter comes with their own respective history and context to make the experience educational, especially for students.
