Guess we’ll just have to find something else to mass-dislike this year, as YouTube’s infamous ‘Youtube Rewind 2020‘ is being cancelled.
ICYDK, ‘YouTube Rewind’ is the video platform’s yearly recap video that highlights major site events, most-watched creators, trends, and basically every good thing that happened on the platform.
It’s since been made a meme for its typically out of touch perspective on creators and the viewers itself, with ‘YouTube Rewind 2019‘ ironically being 2019’s most disliked video.
Meanwhile, YouTube announced that ‘it doesn’t feel right’ to carry on the tradition this year, and instead opted to give a shoutout to creators who’ve managed to uplift the platform during these bleak times.

‘We know that so much of the good that did happen in 2020 was created by all of you. You’ve found ways to lift people up, help them cope, and make them laugh. You made a hard year genuinely better.’
‘Thank you for making a difference.’
