Hold your horses
Marvel fans have been hyped ever since Disney bought 20th Century Fox, as the recent deal means that Fox-owned properties like the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Deadpool can now legally appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
However, it seems like fans will need to take a chill pill or two, as the Hollywood Reporter has revealed that X-Men and Co. won’t debut in the MCU til 2021 or later.
‘Unless Kevin Feige has a completed script waiting in his desk drawer, the newly arriving heroes from the Disney-Fox merger are unlikely to hit screens until at least 2021, if not later’
With the exception of ‘Deadpool’, which recently capped off its second film, Disney still has to sort out tons of existing and upcoming Fox-led Marvel projects, with a few slated for release this year.
X-Men, in particular, has ‘Dark Phoenix’ scheduled for June 7 and ‘New Mutants’ for August 2.
Given the major adjustments, it seems that we won’t get any Wolverine crossovers for quite some time. However, Comicbook.com notes that since the MCU will be a blank slate following ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’, anything is possible.
