Indie fave December Avenue has released the music video for their latest single Bulong.
In a tweet to launch the video, they said, “We dedicate this music video to the broken, the lost, and the weary. We all have different battles to fight and we hope our music will help you get through the fiercest.”
The video begins with a happy couple spending romantic moments together, but halfway through the clip, the woman starts having a breakdown and acting violently while her man desperately tries to subdue and pacify her. The video ends with the man giving the woman some pills she must have forgotten to take and wrapping her in a tight reassuring embrace.
The video poignantly shines a light on how it is to love someone who suffers from mental illness. The lyrics “Ako’y alipin ng pag-ibig mo / Handang ibigin ang isang tulad mo” sums it up quite succinctly.
Bulong’s video is directed by Andrei Antonio and produced by December Avenue, 8th Street Cinema and Tower of Doom.
