It’s what we deserve
With PH previously reaching the highest unemployment rate in history, it’s a no brainer that we need job opportunities now more than ever amid the 6-month lockdown.
Vice President Leni Robredo has seemed to heel the call herself with the ‘Bayanihanapbuhay’ project, an initiative to aid displaced and unemployed Filipinos amid the pandemic.
The first leg of the project launched on Thursday through the PH-centered job-seeking platform Sikap.PH.
The site interface is as simple as it gets, as the fully Filipino-worded main page asks you for your location and what kind of job you’re looking for. From there, you can apply to the available jobs through your Sikap account.
Robredo shared that over 4,000 job vacancies have been submitted on the website with openings in Metro Manila, Cavite, Cebu, and more.
The Office of the Vice President also plans to launch more legs of ‘Bayanihanapbuhay’ to provide sources of income for Filipinos – a vital need as the lockdown drones on.
The next part of the project will apparently be offering free skill training programs for Filipinos who want to receive online certification courses.
‘Hopefully in the coming days, marami pa tayong maging partners para tuloy-tuloy pa ang availability ng trabaho,’ Robredo shared on Sunday.
Meanwhile, interested employers can contact [email protected] to post job vacancies on Sikap.PH.
