Vico Sotto doesn’t want any praise for ‘Mobile Palengke’

Humble as always

Proving that he’s really one of the more proactive leaders alive today, Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto has launched a ‘Mobile Palengke’ which hopes to curb foot traffic at one of the city’s busiest markets.

‘Upang mabawasan ang dami ng tao sa Pasig Mega Market at mga talipala, inilunsad namin ang MOBILE PALENGKE.

Presyong palengke, mas malapit sa mamimili, at tulong na rin sa mga maninindang Pasigueño.’

But in spite of the praise that his recent initiative has received, Vico continues to downplay the attention. He replied to a supporter ‘Hindi lang po kami ang may mobile palengke! May ibang LGU na nauna sa amin!’

Pasig was previously called out for failing to maintain social distancing measures during the Luzon-wide lockdown. While Vico said that crowds were inevitable even with quarantine passes, he did vow to introduce a solution to the problem.

Vico has been adamant in the past about people treating politicians as celebrities – a sentiment that was brought up when he made headlines for his relationship status.

‘It is definitely not newsworthy. If I knew it would get this much attention I just wouldn’t have answered’, he tweeted.

‘If we want better governance, we should stop treating our government officials like show biz personalities’.
