Sports inclusivity: Under Armour holds 3×3 camp for PH bball prodigies

The future of PH basketball?

In a move to make basketball more accessible to PH youth, Under Armour (UA) held a series of basketball clinics teaching basic and advanced 3×3 training to budding basketball enthusiasts aged 17 years old and below.

After 2 months of training, a championship game in Ateneo de Manila University saw the clinic’s top 24 boys and girls teams battle it out for the finals games to showcase their lessons in-game.

LGU Binalonan Team A and Chiang Kai Shek Team B nabbed the championship for the Boys and Girls category, respectively.

The champions expressed their joy for being given the opportunity to showcase the lessons and skills they learned from the basketball clinic in head-to-head games.

‘We really learned a lot. Especially when it comes to working together as a team and how we communicate inside the court.’ said a participant named Jazzy Garcia.

To ensure the UA’s basketball clinics provided quality training, over 30 coaches were trained in the program’s 3×3 style of play and skill development. UA then reached out to  PH schools and communities for participants up to learn the essentials of the well-loved sport.
