Per Deadline, Tom Welling is set to reprise his role as ‘Clark Kent’ in the upcoming DC TV crossover event, ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths‘. This marks Tom’s first go at the character since ‘Smallville‘, which ran from 2001 – 2011.
‘Crisis of Infinite Earths’ will see CW’s superhero shows ‘Arrow’, ‘The Flash’, ‘Supergirl’, ‘DC’s Legends of Tomorrow‘, and ‘Batwoman‘ involved in a five-episode epic.
Tom will be the second former ‘Superman’ actor to reprise his role, with ‘Legends’ mainstay Brandon Routh (Superman Returns) also donning the cape.
Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim said that getting Tom onboard was pivotal for this year’s crossover.
For eight years, Arrow has stood on the shoulders of Smallville. Simply put, there would be no Arrow, and no Arrowverse, without it.’s
