Meet Edgar
Continuing to make girls everywhere simp with his sickly Victorian boy looks, Timothée Chalamet is reprising perhaps the most sickly Victorian-esque role there is: Edward Scissorhands.
In a special Superbowl commercial for Cadillac’s LYRIQ electric car, we see Chalamet as ‘Edgar Scissorhands, the son of Johnny Depp’s ‘Edward Scissorhands’ back in 1990. Like his dad, Chalamet comes with a perpetually-sad face and those irresistible scissors for hands. Wait, what?
To further the nostalgia, Cadillac brought along Johnny Depp’s OG counterpart Winona Ryder to play as Edgar’s mom, as we witness him go through an everyday scissor boy’s troubles i.e. catching footballs, making sandwiches, and getting stuck in chain-link fences.
Much like with anything that Chalamet does at this point, stan Twitter went on a (well-deserved) frenzy over his rendition of the cult classic film.
