Where would we be without them?
Doctors and nurses may be the first to come to mind when we hear ‘frontliner‘, but the latest issue of TIME Magazine highlights the many types of essential workers facing Coronavirus and risking their lives in the process.
TIME’s newest edition comes out in 5 covers featuring different types of front line workers helping others during this crisis, mainly a cafeteria worker, a coroner, an anesthesiologist, and two paramedics.
The special report then goes into their daily lives as essential workers and how many like them are choosing to keep going amidst the pandemic.
‘Today, even the most powerful people in our society are at the mercy of a virus that knows no rank and no title.’ wrote TIME’s Edward Felsenthal in the foreword.
‘And so this fight is being waged in large measure by frontline responders, from the medical workers risking their lives to the delivery people and pharmacy employees who aren’t able to stay in their homes to the coroners who are confronting wartime body counts. This issue is dedicated to them.’
Meanwhile, other printed media are also giving global credit where it’s due, as Vogue Italia’s latest cover simply features a full-white cover as a sign of respect for frontliners and for ‘rebirth‘ after the outbreak.
