This man got kicked out for wearing a thong as a face mask

The mandatory use of face masks has been the norm since the beginning of the pandemic.  There have been crazy inventions like the melon mask and a smart mask. But a man from a Florida flight decided to wear a red laced thong over his head as protection from the virus. This move led him to get kicked out of the flight.

The 38-year-old passenger named Adam Jenne spoke with news channel NBC2, where he explained how he wanted to show the “absurdity” of wearing masks on a plane when people are allowed to remove them while eating and drinking onboard.

A video of the incident circulated online, showing the crew informing Jenne that he would be asked to leave if he doesn’t comply with the Covid regulations. Jenne has allegedly done such a stunt before. He said, ‘Every single flight has been met with different reactions from the flight crew.’

All airline carriers have to follow the federal mask mandate across the US.

Jenne also compared his actions to civil rights activist Rosa Parks, who refused to give up her seat on a bus for a white passenger in 1995. He explained, ‘Everything else that has sparked change in this country has come from everyday people, Rosa Parks was nobody famous, she changed the course of history.’

When you think about it, Jenne isn’t exactly fighting for anything related to equal social opportunities. In September, Dr. Rabindra Abeyasinghe, WHO’s Representative to the Philippines, highlighted that a single face mask worn properly and consistently effectively shields people against COVID-19.

United Airlines released a statement saying, ‘The customer clearly wasn’t in compliance with the federal mask mandate and we appreciate that our team addressed the issue on the ground prior to takeoff, avoiding any potential disruptions on the air.’
