‘It’s celebrities we count on most’: Ryan Reynolds trolls tone-deaf celebs in PSA

He’s back at it again

In a time where influencers remind us to ‘stay at home, fuckers‘ and celebrities awkwardly sing ‘Imagine‘ for seemingly no reason, ‘Deadpool‘ star Ryan Reynolds has a few words to clap back on his fellow tone-deaf celebrities.

In a 1-minute PSA video posted on his socials, Ryan first thanked Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and encouraged people to stay at home, before taking a playful jab at celebrities’ actual importance during the outbreak.

‘I think in times of crisis we all know it’s the celebrities we count on most. They’re the ones that are going to get us through this.’

‘Right after healthcare workers, first responders, people who work in essential services, ping pong players, mannequins; childhood imaginary friends, like 400 other types of people.’

Albeit hilarious, Ryan’s message rings true in today’s climate of VIP testing, privilege-checking, and downright lack of common sense. This isn’t the first time that someone has called out their fellow celebs’ BS, as Ricky Gervais did the same during his iconic Golden Globes opening roast.

While it’s appreciated when celebrities use their platforms to share important health info, it’s really the professionals we should be listening to and actually needing during this medical emergency.

‘Look, stay at home, practice social distancing, wash your hands. We are going to get through this thing, we’re going to get through this thing together,’ Ryan concludes.
