16-day-old baby is PH’s youngest COVID-19 survivor

In a Facebook post, the Department of Health shared that a 16-day old baby managed to recover from COVID-19, making him the youngest survivor of the virus in the Philippines. The medical staff at the National Children’s Hospital in Quezon City spent 11 days taking care of the child now nicknamed ‘Survivor’.

‘The DOH applauds our valiant healthcare team for this feat!’, writes the agency.

‘We at the DOH commits to provide the needed health commodities and personal protective equipment as our health facilities accept patients of various ages.’

As of writing, the Philippines has a total of 8,212 cases with 1,023 recoveries and 558 deaths.
