Holy mother of wow
If Netflix’s inclusion of several Pinoy blockbusters into its platform isn’t enough to make you giddy, then the streaming giant’s latest move certainly will.
It’s just been revealed that Filipino graphic novel ‘Trese’ has been picked up by Netflix and will be released as an anime series of the same name.
Created by Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo, the acclaimed comic series follows Alexandra Trese, a paranormal detective in Manila who deals with cases related to supernatural beings straight from Filipino folklore.
While there’s no release date yet, the show will be produced by Jakarta and Singapore-based studio BASE Entertainment, with Fil-Am artist Jay Oliva (of Ant-Man & Deadpool fame) helming the series.
