Another childhood fave is coming to life, as Netflix is set to drop a modern take on OG book series ‘The Baby-Sitters Club‘.

ICYDK, ‘The Baby-Sitters Club‘ is about a group of middle school girls who – you guessed it – start a business out of baby-sitting. The series’ premise is simple and lighthearted enough, but it just might be what we need to balance out the world right now.

The series started publishing way back in 1986 and spanned over 200 books with more than 180 million copies sold worldwide. That’s a lot of club members.

Meanwhile, the first season of the Netflix original series introduces the five founding members: leader Kristy Thomas (Sophie Grace), second-in-command Mary Anne Spier (Malia Baker), resident nerd Claudia Kishi (Momona Tamada), exchange student Stacey McGill (Shay Rudolph), and homebody Dawn Schafer (Xochiti Gomez). TBH, even writing their names is a major throwback.

The Baby-Sitters Club‘ comes in the wake of our other Scholastic books getting the Hollywood treatment, such as Animorphs and Goosebumps.

If you’re ready to bump up your weekly allowance, all 10 episodes of ‘The Babysitter’s Club’ is set to drop on Netflix this July 3.
