Was it worth the wait?
After news about an upcoming adidas x ‘Naruto’ collab dropped back in July, we finally get a peek at one of the pieces in the collection.
Called the ‘Kakashi’ COPA UltraBoost, the kicks pay homage to the former Hokage of Leaf Village by adopting the character’s dark blue scheme for much of its design. The grey palette of Kakashi’s hair has also been incorporated into the Three Stripe branding.
Logos from the anime can also be seen on the model, such as the Mangekyou Sharingan symbol on the tongue tab and the Anbu crest on the heel. A Japanese translation of ‘Hatake Kakashi’ could also be seen on the midsole.
All in all, the kicks are just… alright. They’re not bad, but they lack that ‘OOMPH’ factor one would come to expect from a signature collaboration.
There’s no word yet on a release date for the full Naruto x adidas collection, but leaks have been steadily dropping for the past few weeks, including a model which references Sakura Uchiha.
