ICYMI, 2013 Korean comedy-drama blockbuster ‘Miracle in Cell No. 7‘ is about to get a PH adaptation!
The hit movie is centered around an imprisoned mentally-disabled man on a journey with his daughter and prison mates to prove his innocence. Since receiving worldwide critical acclaim, Viva Films has taken a stab at putting a Pinoy spin on the tear-jerker.
Veteran actor Aga Muhlach was announced as leading man Lee Yong-gu last July, with child actress Xia Vigo as his daughter Ye-seung revealed shortly after.
President Nadine Lustre was initially on board as the older Ye-seung, but later replaced by Bela Padilla.
The studio had been mum on cast details since, but an Instagram post from JC Santos reveals the other big names in the reboot, with seasoned actors Soliman Cruz, Joel Torre, Jojit Lorenzo, and Mon Confiado taking on the role of Yong-gu’s fellow Cell No. 7 inmates. Talk about star-studded.
‘Miracle in Cell No. 7‘ is one of the official entries for the Metro Manila Film Festival and is set to premiere during the Christmas season.
