The tradition of seeing pvblic officials flaunt their expensive Filipiniana outfits during the annual State of the Nation Address (SONA) has been canceled due to COVID-19. But no tears are lost, as activist Mae Paner might’ve just debuted the greatest look in SONA history.
The artist also known as Juana Change arrived as swimsuit-wearing Harry Roque, complete with dolphins, at the SONAgkaisa protest at the University of the Philipines, Diliman. The event, organized by various groups, aims to raise awareness on health, rights, and other issues as President Duterte airs his speech later today.
Paner also went viral for her look at the ‘Grand Mañanita’ protest last June, where she cosplayed Metro Manila Police Chief Debold Sinas.

In case you’re a bit lost on the reference, the Presidential Spokesperson was criticized on social for ‘taking a break’ in the middle of a pandemic, after photos of him chilling with dolphins in Subic went viral earlier in July.
Roque clarified that his photo op wasn’t for leisure, only a ‘side trip’, as he went to Zambales to check on his business ventures in the province.
