Here at We The Pvblic, we believe in the concept of fairness. For every article that covers the kikiam side of an issue, there’s a piece that centers on the positives – such as this one. It’s only proper to do so, as every side, regardless if it’s yours or the opposition’s, has the right to be heard.
Now, there’s no denying that 2019 SEA Games got off to a rough start. A seemingly overpriced ‘Kalderong Ginto‘, unfinished venues, and the failed accommodation of certain foreign delegates are only a couple of issues that the pvblic had a field day with.
People have every right to point out the negatives, mind you. After all, protests play an important role in spurring reforms from their governments. And although some were overdone, much of the criticism was aired with good intentions, and that is to give both athletes and guests the prestigious event that they deserve.
But solely focusing on the bad things would be a great disservice to the individuals who worked on the Games with pure intentions. Those who did so out of love for the country. Those who simply want to make every Filipino proud, regardless of the controversies or political affiliation. And as bleak as others make it out to be, people like these do exist – and they’re doing good work.
This doesn’t mean we have to be blind to the f*ck-ups. But as critical as we are of the shortcomings, let’s also be as approving of the victories. Our hardworking countrymen deserve that, at the least.

‘When you are brought to that level to prepare food and feed world-class athletes, the facilities and standards also have to be at par’, boasts Poch Jorolan.
Jorolan, who is part of Culinarya Pampanga, an Angeles-city based organization composed of culinary experts, also shared the team’s offerings for the athletes and workforce.
The menu consists of pizzas, egg sandwiches on wheat bread, sotanghon and lemon cucumber juice.

Ok, so we might never truly get on board with the design, but it does kinda look cool in this shot.
