Less flash, more noir
Remember that Jared Leto-helmed Joker in ‘Suicide Squad’? The one that made everyone and their mother lowkey cringe? Well, Zack Snyder is now giving him a darker take in ‘Justice League: The Snyder Cut’.
Dubbed as the OG version of the 2017 film, ‘The Snyder Cut’ is the longtime DC director’s 2021 original vision which was scrapped after he left the film due to the passing of his daughter.
In the all-new teaser pictures, we see Leto’s portrayal of Gotham’s Clown Prince of Crime in a much more subdued way, as they’ve dropped the green hair, sparkly jewelry, and face tattoos for a B&W Arkham Asylum vibe.
TBH, it kind of reminds us of Joaquin Phoenix’s Oscar-winning role.

‘The Joker is really the only thing that I thought of in retrospect – but I will say that it was always my intention to bring Joker into that world,’ Snyder shared in an interview with Vanity Fair.
How this all ties together with the messed-up timeline of ongoing DC films is still up for debate, but we’ll have to see once Justice League: The Snyder Cut’ drops on HBO Max this March 18, 2021.
Hope it doesn’t hurt us really, really bad
