Ishin-Denshin Int’l Music Fest brings together Filipino and Japanese musicians at MOA Concert Grounds

Ishin Denshin,” a Japanese idiom that literally translates to “what the mind thinks, the heart transmits” denotes a form of interpersonal communication through unspoken mutual understanding.

The idiom could also be used to allude to music as the ultimate universal language that brings different people on the same page regardless of age, race or religion. This was the heart of the Ishin-Denshin International Music Festival that brought together Japanese and Filipino musicians at the MOA Concert Grounds on February 10, 2018.

The starry lineup was led by local artists Bamboo, apl.de.ap, Barbie Almalbis, Karylle, Kris Lawrence, Rocksteddy, Itchyworms, and DJ Ace Ramos, Japanese musicians DJ Hello Kitty, Sae Ono and DJ Hannah Ichiko, and Filipino J-pop performers Japh Dolls, Maria Gow, Beverly, and Beni.

A portion of the proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Manny Pacquiao Foundation’s rehabilitation projects for the Marawi war victims.

Luis Manzano and Daiana Menezes hosted the event.
