The Fresh Prince is out!
Variety has confirmed that Idris Elba (Luther, Pacific Rim, Thor) will replace Will Smith in the sequel of ‘Suicide Squad’.
Will Smith had to bow out of the project due to scheduling conflicts. Warner Bros. reportedly rushed to find another proven and well-known actor to replace Will as production is set to start in September.
Idris Elba was recently cast as the main villain in the ‘Fast & Furious’ spinoff, ‘Hobbs & Shaw’.
‘Suicide Squad 2’ will be directed by former Guardians of the Galaxy director, James Gunn. It will also serve as a reboot, as it will feature a whole new different crew of supervillains apart from Harley Quinn, Deadshot, and Amanda Waller.
James Gunn's 'Suicide Squad' reboot will reportedly use DC characters not in the original film, aside from Harley, Deadshot, and Amanda Waller. Rick Flag could potentially return as well
