We asked a Gen-Z NSFW content creator how much she earns

“A lot of people ask me to step on them”

I do cosplay for a living. I sell digital photos online: cosplay and NSFW.”

NSFW or Not Safe (suitable) for Work has always been a polarizing topic.

On one hand, the most popular creators on sites like Fansly and OnlyFans earn big bucks from posting selfies and short-form videos, much to the envy of your usual 9 to 5s. On the other, moral grandstanding and criticism abound, since many consider the sensitive content as essentially sex work.

For cosplayer and NSFW creator Liabear, the people are welcome to impose their judgments and stereotypes, as she believes it adds to the allure of the industry.

Lia specializes in Gravure, a fetish type of photography that originated in Japan. The photos often depict fake scenarios in an intimate setting, such as a cute girl in a wedding dress, or in a bikini while making an “adorable” face.

What is it like to be an NSFW creator?

Despite the countless misconceptions about the industry, Lia is unfazed with what other people think of her.

Yung mga people na really matter or know you they don’t really care about that stuff.”

She chooses to surround herself with fellow creators, and her own family who even help her with her shoots. Lia’s sister assists her during shoots and events, while her mother sends out her NSFW photobooks.

Yung mga kaibigan ko, kami kami lang rin yung mga nagkakaintindihan kaya I work with the same people.” She says that collaborations often lead to friendships. “Its like hanging out with people you like tapos you get paid.”

How much do NSFW creators earn?

According to Newsweek, some OnlyFans creators reportedly saw their earnings skyrocket during the lockdown. We asked Liabear to confirm.

Dati may issue, sabi I earn $5,000 a month,” Liabear shared and laughed “Bigay mo sa akin. Saan ba yan?”,  clarifying that she usually earns around 15-50k PHP.

Her message to the viewers

Lia accepts that very little can change the people’s perception towards NSFW work. She’s all for it, but with one request: Please don’t disrespect the models or the people that do the NSFW content.

Please don’t leak their stuff, kase mga tao rin ‘tong mga ‘to.”
