Greta Thunberg said she ‘extremely likely’ has COVID-19

She’s now quarantined with her dad

Youth environmental activist Greta Thunberg revealed that she experienced symptoms and is ‘extremely likely‘ to be positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19) after touring around Europe with her father, Svante Thunberg.

In an Instagram post yesterday, the 17-year-old mentioned that she’s been quarantined with her dad for two weeks now after they both exhibited Coronavirus symptoms.

‘Around ten days ago I started feeling some symptoms, exactly the same time as my father – who traveled with me from Brussels.’

‘I was feeling tired, had shivers, a sore throat and coughed. My dad experienced the same symptoms, but much more intense and with a fever.’

However, they didn’t get tested as per Sweden’s strict policy of limiting testing for only those in dire need.

‘I have not been tested for COVID-19, but it’s extremely likely that I’ve had it, given the combined symptoms and circumstances.’

Though Greta assures that she’s feeling better and ‘basically recovered‘ while on quarantine, she urges her young followers to stay indoors – as they can still be asymptomatic and unknowingly spread the virus to those with higher risk.

‘We who don’t belong to a risk group have an enormous responsibility, our actions can be the difference between life and death for many others.’

‘Please keep that in mind, follow the advice from experts and your local authorities and #StayAtHome to slow the spread of the virus.’

We’re with you on that, Greta
