Google just announced that they will soon be providing Filipinos free and high-quality internet in pvblic spaces such as airports and train stations.

This privilege will be provided via ‘Google Stations’ which will reportedly be found in 50 locations across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Google will be partnering up with Smart and PLDT to deliver the service.

Additional details such as a launch date have yet to be released.

This comes as welcome news for a country that has had a glaring problem with fake news sites and sources, in part due to limited Internet access.

The masses, in particular, often rely on Facebook as their sole source for info, as the app allows people to browse the site even with ‘Free Data’.

In fact, one netizen even invented a chatbot which allows users to access Google via FB Messenger.
