Say what you want about that ‘Game of Thrones’ ending, but there’s just no stopping the hype surrounding the world of Westeros.

Per Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter, HBO is set to launch a pilot order for a ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel that will take place 300 years before the events of the main series.

The new series will reportedly cover the ‘beginning of the end of House Targaryen’. It’ll be taking inspo from the spinoff novel ‘Fire & Blood’, created by GOT author George R.R. Martin.

The book covered the Targaryen conquest of Westeros, the formation of the Iron Throne, and the Targaryen civil war called the ‘Dance of Dragons’.

‘Fire and Blood’ was met with mixed critical reception from critics, with some faulting the book for its ‘dry tone’, while others called it a ‘masterpiece of popular historical fiction‘.

There’s no word yet on a release date for the prequel series, but here’s hoping they’d give us a more satisfying ending than GOT’s last outing.
