Strong independent woman coming thru
Emma Watson just voiced out what most of us have experienced – society’s pressure of being single in your 20s.
In a recent interview with British Vogue, the actress opened up about the ‘anxiety’ she felt about approaching her 30th birthday.
“If you have not built a home, if you do not have a husband, if you do not have a baby, and you are turning 30 … there’s just this incredible amount of anxiety.’
Emma also explained that she’s happily single and even coined a genius term for people who are perfectly fine in a relationship with themselves.
‘It took me a long time, but I’m very happy [being single]. I call it being self-partnered.’
The relatable queen isn’t completely against meeting someone though, as she shared that she’s going on dates ‘not [with] one specific person, but I am going on dates.’
Whether or not you relate to ‘self-partnered‘, Emma’s sentiments still reflect the ongoing culture of millennials going against the wave by not rushing into a relationship just because society says so – as we should, TBH.
