It has been two decades since Potterheads had a chance to watch the book-turned-film series, and they were in for a treat during the first day of the year since Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts premiered. While viewers enjoyed reliving the magic and mystery, there was also one photo that grabbed their attention.
Case in point: Emma Watson a.k.a. the actress who brought Hermione Granger to life was narrating past memories from the movie until a childhood photo of Emma Roberts appeared on the screen. A fan quickly posted a screenshot of the said scene on Twitter.
Internet sleuths were quick to find receipts that the photo was in fact Roberts’ throwback image that was posted way back in 2012 on her Instagram account. The mishap was spotted at around five minutes and 35 seconds into the special.

Following the internet buzz on the mishap, Entertainment Weekly reported the Return to Hogwarts producers’ statement which admitted to the error. It read, ‘Well spotted Harry Potter fans! You brought an editing mistake of a mislabeled photograph to our attention. New version up shortly.’
The Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts celebrated the first time that most of the cast members had been together since the movie franchise came to a close. Joining Watson are her fellow OG wizards Daniel Radcliffe (Harry) and Rupert Grint (Ron). The directors, actors, and producers who were part of the films will also take a trip down memory lane during the documentary special.
