A win for diversity

In a historic move, DC Entertainment has just cast trans/deaf actor Chella Man as the superhero ‘Jerico’ in their ongoing series called ‘Titans‘.

The 19-year-old will make his acting debut on the second season of the show, which follows a group of young superheroes famously known as the ‘Teen Titans’.

Man, who is also a person of color, previously tweeted about his excitement for the role.

In the comics, ‘Jerico’ is the son of the villain Deathstroke who was rendered mute after assassins cut his vocal chords. He uses sign language to communicate and can control anyone by simply making eye contact.

Production for ‘Titans’ is scheduled to begin next month.
