The clean shall inherit the earth

ICYMI, the Department of Health (DOH) has confirmed that 4 individuals have tested positive for COVID-19 in the span of the weekend, bringing PH’s total confirmed cases to 10. The developments have also opted President Duterte to declare a state of pvblic health emergency this afternoon.

The spike is enough for anyone to worry. But before we raise the alarm again, it’s best to recognize the best-known prevention tip out there – a little something called personal hygiene.

Yep, the habits our moms reminded us growing up are coming back to bite us in the ass. And it’s only taken a deadly virus to remind us we’re all germy mortals that need to clean ourselves as often as possible.

Even the World Health Organization (WHO)’s official measures against COVID-19 is to first and foremost ‘wash your hands frequently‘ to kill germs that could reach the face.  WHO also advises against touching MEN (mouth, eyes, nose) and to practice ‘respiratory hygiene‘, like covering your mouth when you sneeze/cough.

Not that it’s already common sense to do any of that or anything.

Experts have also long been saying that the regular healthy person doesn’t need to wear a facemask in pvblic, as long as they’re keeping themselves clean and away from the virus.

TL;DR of COVID-19 prevention: Just take care of yourself, goddamit.

Meanwhile, it’s also been recommended that we need to wash our hands for at least 20 seconds for all microbes to be scrubbed away for good.

In case ‘Happy Birthday‘ isn’t your thing, here are a few bops with choruses that hit the 20-second mark to help your goldfish-like attention spans.
