Catholic priests burn Harry Potter books, says they promote witchcraft

The horror

Catholic priests in Koszalin, Poland just gave bookworms a heart attack when they burned Harry Potter books, which they believe contain ‘evil forces’ and promote sorcery.

Said priests were members of the religious organization SMS z Nieba (SMS from Heaven), who posted the snaps of the book burning on Facebook.

Other casualties of the book burning included a Hello Kitty umbrella and other books connected to magic. These were brought by the parishioners, who were instructed to ’empty their houses of evil objects.’

The group apparently captioned the now-deleted FB post with Bible verses, including one from the Book of Acts which reads:

‘Many of those who had practiced magic collected their books and burned them in front of everyone. So they calculated their value and found it to be fifty thousand pieces of silver.’

A spokesman for the diocese of Koszalin,┬áRev. Wojciech Parafianowicz, was critical of the event, saying that he ‘did not like this form of priestly activity, which is wrong.’
