Build your recycling routine with local waste collection app ‘Trash Panda’

In a day and age where people glorify consumerism, the abundance of waste materials is inevitable. If you’re looking for a proper way to dispose of all of the recyclables you have, Trash Panda can be the solution. It’s a local on-demand waste collection and coaching app.

Behind the eco-conscious app is a local startup named Circula Recoon. The co-founders are Marie Sapuay, a solid waste management consultant, and Francis Dimalanta, a sustainable urban development consultant.

Using the app is simple. First, you have to go through a straightforward registration process and provide your complete address and contact details such as name, address, contact number, etc.

Next, make sure you segregated your waste correctly before the arrival of the collector. The four main types of recyclables that they accept are paper and cardboard, used beverage cartons, plastics, and metals such as tin cans, foil, and copper.

Before handing them over, make sure your recyclables are clean and dry. Read a more detailed explanation about their list on their Facebook post below.

The next step is booking and selecting a pick-up date. After that, you have to wait for the collector to pick up your recyclables. The collector will drop it off at their partner facilities for recycling and processing.

Trash Panda doesn’t only collect your waste, but it will also soon have a “Coaching Corner” feature. This developing feature will include helpful tutorials on how to incorporate proper waste management into your lifestyle.

The list of cities that can access the app’s collection services are Makati, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Manila, Parañaque, Pasay, Pasig, San Juan, Taguig, and Cainta, Rizal. Trash Panda is working on including more locations in the app’s future updates.

Trash Panda is currently available for Android users. However, the team is working on developing to support iOS users soon.
