Just days shy from their newest single release, Korean girl group BLACKPINK has officially become the most-subscribed female artist on YouTube.
The group’s official YouTube channel reached the 42.3M mark last night, surpassing Ariana Grande at 42.2M and Taylor Swift at 38.5M.
‘In an age that is flooded with new content everyday, subscriptions to channel are often a result of a fandom’s loyalty and consistent interest,’ shared BP’s talent agency, YG Entertainment.
‘Considering that YouTube plays a key role in effecting changes in the global music market, BLACKPINK’s new record is an extremely important indicator.’
Coincidentally, former title-holder Ariana Grande is one of BLINK’s fan faves to be the special artist featured in the group’s newest single dropping this August.
