If COVID-19 and ‘new normal’ feels like a dystopic episode of ‘Black Mirror’, then you’re not alone. Madrid-based agency Brother Ad School has dropped a promo for the Netflix series that literally reflects the gloom and doom vibe of 2020.
The ad features a mirrored surface with a headline that reads ‘Black Mirror. 6th Season. Live Now, everywhere’. According to designboom, the installations can be found at several Madrid bus stops.
‘It’s been months since everything that happens in the world seems like we were living a long episode of Black Mirror.’, reads the agency’s comment on Ads of The World.
‘In Netflix, the 5th is the last season you can watch. The 6th is happening in the real world’
Previously, Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker revealed that a sixth season won’t be happening anytime soon, since he feels the world is sad enough as it is.
‘At the moment, I don’t know what stomach there would be for stories about societies falling apart, so I’m not working away on any of those [episodes]. I’m sort of keen to revisit my comic skill set, so I’ve been writing scripts aimed at making myself laugh.’
