People were outraged at the bishop officiating Aretha Franklin’s funeral after he got way, WAAAY too touchy with Ariana Grande onstage.
Bishop Charles H. Ellis hugged the ‘Sweetener’ singer after her tribute performance to the Queen of Soul, and was seen inappropriately placing his hand above the pop icon’s waist and on her breast.
The pvblic also felt that his joke about mistaking Ariana Grande’s name as ‘something from Taco Bell’ was racially insensitive.

After the subsequent shitstorm, Bishop Charles H. Ellis has since issued an apology, commenting ‘It would never be my intention to touch any woman’s breast. I don’t know, I guess I put my arm around her. Maybe I crossed the border, maybe I was too friendly or familiar but, again, I apologise.’
He added: ‘I hug all the female and male artists. Everybody that was up, I shook their hands and hugged them. That’s what we are all about in the church. We are all about love.’
He also apologised for his controversial joke, saying that he was just trying to keep the nine hour programme lively by ‘inserting some jokes here and there.’
