People are posting shots of almost-empty movie theatres for ‘Bato’

ICYMI, the very divisive biopic ‘Bato’, which supposedly tells the life story of the former PNP chief, just premiered last January 30.

The controversy around the flick seems to be never-ending, with the main lowlight being boycotting issues between Robin Padilla and directors in the film industry.

Said boycotts apparently did their job, as Twitter is now flooded with screenshots of almost empty movie theatres which most netizens claim were taken during the movie’s first day.

Twitter user @kipoebanda also aired his frustration over the alleged unfair treatment of the Martial Law movie ‘Liway’, which apparently had a stronger opening day, yet was forced to flounder during the rest of its theatrical run.

The flick will experience its first weekend run, tomorrow, February 2, 2019.
