That smize doe

In light of the new wave of 2020 emojis (and, you know, the pandemic), Apple has updated its ‘Face with Medical Mask’ emoji with happier eyes, eyebrows, and red cheeks – replacing its previously sickly sad look.

This serves as the first time that the specific emoji will be revised since its 2018 intro amidst the global call to wear facemasks. Not everyone who wears a facemask is miserable, after all.

Meanwhile, Apple’s new emoji lineup also comes with over one hundred new emojis, including numerous skin tone options and gender-neutral adventure icons. Oh, and that teary-eyed ‘lowkey dead‘ emoji we’ve been waiting on since January.

We’ll get to see the latest emojis when iOS 14.2 drops sometime this November.
