5 deadly moments on-set

Shooting films, even having the rule of “Safety first”, could still be dangerous. When you have no total control of the things going around, then most probably, the day couldn’t go ahead without one person getting hurt. In worse case scenarios, the actors themselves get hurt while the camera is rolling.

1Isla Fisher in Now You See Me

“My chain got stuck. I had to really swim to the bottom. I couldn’t get up. Everyone thought I was acting fabulously. I was actually drowning. No one realized I was actually struggling.”

2Halle Berry in The Call

While shooting a fight scene, Berry fell and hit her head on the concrete floor. She collapsed, making the set stop for that day. Fortunately, no lasting injuries were found.

3Emily Blunt and Tom Cruise in Edge of Tomorrow

“I hear him under his breath as I approach the right-hand turn, going ‘Brake, brake, brake. Brake. Brake, brake, brake… Oh God. Brake, brake, brake. Brake it hard! Brake hard! I left it too late, and so drove us into a tree. …I almost killed Tom Cruise.”

4Jason Statham in Expendables 3

While filming, Statham was driving a truck when the brakes failed, forcing him to jump out. If he did not do such, he’s be swimming 60 feet deep in the ocean.

5Jamie Alexander in Thor: The Dark World

“It was raining, it was dark outside, it was like five in the morning — and I went down a metal staircase and slipped. It took me out of filming for a month,” and this caused Alexander 11 chipped vertebrae, a dislocated left shoulder and tore her left rhomboid.
