The Bangtan Boys are gearing up for the release of their highly-anticipated Love Yourself: Tear album on May 18, 2018.
To stir up excitement among their legions of fans, BTS released a trailer of their new album in the form of a mesmerizing music video of their first single Singularity, a sexy and soothing R&B tune co-written by one of the members Kim Namjoon, more known by his stage name RM.
Featured in the Narcissus-inspired video is another member Kim Tae-hyung, aka V, who sings about seeing his reflection on a lake and wondering whether his voice is real and if he’s lost himself.
The video also boasts of seductive choreography interpreted by V and a team of backup dancers, which includes dancing with faceless coat hangers and white masks. The video ends with V putting on a white mask with a single, black tear dramatically dripping from his left eye.
They have yet to reveal the tracklist of the album, but it’s expected to be a full-length one, their third following Dark & Wild (2014) and Wings (2016).
The seven-member South Korean act is nominated for the Top Social Artist award at the Billboard Music Awards and are set to perform at the ceremony on May 20. They’re also scheduled to appear on Ellen on May 25.
