At the Marvel Creative Day Out held at De La Salle College of St. Benilde last Jan. 10, Marvel fans were seen going around the School of Design and Arts Theater. Black Panther photos were hidden under seats and posted on random walls for pop culture geeks to find in order to win an Iron Man collectible.
Not everyone was able to find Black Panther tucked away on their seats, but everyone in the theater was able to see him projected on the screen, in an extended version of the 2018 film’s trailer.
Marvel reveals little about the anticipated standalone film. The trailers tell us “a war is coming,” and T’Challa, played by Ryan Coogler, will be confronting some resistance as he is coronated as Wakanda’s new king.
The film teases a lot of weapons, folklore, and secrets, and the world wants in on it. In fact, it’s the bestselling Marvel film in the first 24 hours of ticket presales, unseating previous record-holder “Captain America: Civil War.”
It’s set to premier in February 14 (just about a month to go!!!) but it’s among the most-tweeted about films in the past year, the only one included in the top 10 list that wasn’t even showed in cinemas yet.
Give the crowd a Kendrick Lamar-produced soundtrack and the Black Panther conversations are set to continue. The official OST isn’t out yet of course, but fans have come up with their own Spotify playlist, curating a list of songs that they feel has the same vibes of the movie’s tracks.
