Terry Crews claims he was a victim of sexual assault

Actor and former NFL star Terry Crews claims he was a victim of sexual assault by a “high-level Hollywood executive.”

Crews did not speak out over the incident for fear of being ostracized, or even being sent to jail.

The 49-year-old recalls the incident in a series of tweets. Crews mentions he shared his story in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal. “This whole thing with Harvey Weinstein is giving me PTSD. Why? Because this kind of thing happened to ME,” he tweeted.

Film producer Weinstein has been accused of sexual assault or harassment by multiple women which included Asia Argento, Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie. Weinstein denied the claims, saying all of his relationships were “consensual”.

The actor mentions the experience helped him “understand and empathize with those who have remained silent”.

He adds, “But Harvey Weinstein is not the only perpetrator.” Crews mentions he hopes he would “deter a predator and encourage someone who feels hopeless”.
