On The Eighth Day: God Created Christmas

And on the 8th day, God looked down on his masterpiece and said,
I need a day to wash all this pit of despair?
So God created Christmas.
God said, I need a day, a single day, where everyone will forget the trains that didn’t arrive, the traffic that didn’t end, the government that never helped, the break ups that didn’t mend, the feud that wasn’t fixed.
So God created Christmas.
I need a day where everyone is free, a single day to celebrate, a single day to hope, to renew, to love, to share, to remember and be grateful.
So God created Christmas.
God said, I need a single day so that everyone should look beyond what is missing.
A day that can move people, inspire many to forget all the hatred and believe once again.
So God created Christmas.
A single day that you can watch an old lady’s soul fly through the wind and let the sunset dry your tears to make everything okay.
So God created Christmas.
I need a day with a strong weather but has a cool wind to smell the breeze, that kisses your soft cheeks, that hugs your tired body and quenches your tainted soul saying to yourself,
“Today is going to be amazing… I am amazing”,
then someone will reply with a sigh, “You are”.
So God created Christmas.
A day that will unite the world, bond a nation and group a family with a sense of gratitude, that would make them feel everything is okay.
A single day for every sick, every sinner, every black, white, tall, queer, small, skinny, curvy person, every soul that they are important armed with gifts of sharing, protected with one true love to make us feel like a kid once again.
So God created Christmas.
To the kid in all of us.
Merry Christmas.
