Lawmakers back out of #VanityTax bill thanks to the Internet!

This is the start of the people power revolution on the Internet as AKO Bicol Representative Rodel Batacobe said that he will withdraw his support for his proposed vanity bill on Monday, January 16.

He mentions he will no longer get in the way of the Filipinos’ “happiness.”

“Eh kung ayaw ng taong-bayan, dahil nga nakikita ko nga po ‘yung mga comment ng netizens… Sinasabi nila, ‘Bakit tina-tax mo ‘yung ano… #DontTaxMyBeauty.’ Sabi ko naman, kung talagang ayaw, eh ‘di wag na nating ituloy,” Batacobe said in his interview with PTV’s Good Morning Pilipinas.

The comments he was referring to had a wide array of discussions and arguments on why the lawmaker should not push through with the said bill. Check it:
