You had that Nickelodeon lunch box shaped like a tool box.
It was the coolest thing you could ever own back then, and the best part? It was a complete lunch box set. It had a blue and orange rocket ship carrying football head “Hey Arnold!” for a tumbler, a bright yellow bento box with a “The Wild Thornberrys” scene printed on the cover, and foldable utensils designed with “Rugrats” troublemakers Chuckie and Angelica.
That precious lunch box, with the iconic orange Nickelodeon splash as its lock, would be sitting on your lap as you wait for your school bus to pick you up in the wee hours of the morning. Coincidentally, Nicktoons would be flashing on your screen to pass the time.
You would either catch “Aaahh!!! Real Monsters,” “Legends of the Hidden Temple,” “Hey Arnold!” or “Spongebob Squarepants” on the television while you eat breakfast, starting your day right before the bore of school ruins it later on.
If that trailed you down memory lane, you are a millennial who loved—and probably still loves—Nicktoons.
And now that most of the millennials are working young adults, you could probably afford to be a bit nostalgic—literally. Gone are the days when you had to beg your parents for a Nick Box subscription, because now you can totally split your pay check to splurge on some kickass merchandise of your favorite retro cartoons.
The Boxlunch x Nickelodeon collab is a time capsule of your childhood. This pop culture collection has everything from apparel to toy figures, even stuff for your beloved pets.
And it’s all for a good cause, too. For every $10 spent on the collection, a free meal will be given to someone in need through the nongoverment organization Feeding America. Who knew shopping could turn into a philanthropic cause?
