David Blaine has become an iconic name in the world of magicians as he continuously gives the pvblic a piece of his time and effort in each and every trick.
Blaine has had his close calls but not like his latest one where he almost died after accidentally shooting himself in the mouth at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
The 43-year-old master illusionist made the revelation on the latest episode of his show Beyond Magic where he was performing a magic trick called bullet catch and the objective is to catch a bullet fired from a rifle with a metal cup in his mouth.
This is where shit happens. “When the bullet struck the cup, there was a high-pitched ringing in my ears and I felt an impact on the back of my throat. I was sure the bullet went right through my head and that I was dead,” Blaine says.
“Suddenly I became aware of the pain and it brought me back. At that moment, I realized that the mouth guard had shattered again, and I was alive.”
You can see in the video the actual shock David felt when that bullet went straight to his mouth, however, he had the time to thank his audience before being rushed to the hospital as he had a laceration in his throat.
And even if his assistant vowed never to help Blaine in the death-defying trick, the illusionist keeps calm and tells the pvblic, “We’re going to do it right. That’s the end of the story.”
