New Zealand singer Lorde has given a big shout out to fellow female musicians in her home country’s largest newspaper after being snubbed at the 2018 Grammys.

Lorde thanked her fans for embracing “Melodrama” as well as “believing in female musicians” through the published handwritten note on the New Zealand Herald.

The singer mentioned she “saw a lot of crazy & wonderful things” and dedicated the nomination to those who supported her.

She posted an essay by female artist Jenny Holzer on her Instagram the night of the ceremony. It talks about being free and overthrowing the “oppressors”.

Lorde was nominated for Album of the Year where she was the only woman chosen for the biggest award of the night.

Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic won.

She was the only nominee who was not asked to perform solo during the Grammys. She added in the issue: “Thank you, also, for believing in female musicians. You set a beautiful precedent!”

The newspaper ad came after she tweeted this:

Savage. Pretty sure she can murder that stage, y’all.
