The official soundtrack of the movie musical “The Greatest Showman” bumps Taylor Swift’s “Reputation” off the top spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart and towers over powerful pop stars like Ed Sheeran, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Imagine Dragons, et al.

According to Billboard, before hitting No. 1, “The Greatest Showman” soundtrack debuted at No. 71 on the Billboard 200 dated Dec. 30, 2017, jumped to No. 63 the following week, and then zoomed to No. 5 (following the movie’s U.S. theatrical release on Dec. 20).

Released by Atlantic Records, the soundtrack features showstopping tunes performed by the cast led by Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Zendaya, and Michelle Williams.

One of the songs, “This Is Me”, sung by Broadway veteran Keala Settle, won Best Original Song at the recent Golden Globes – another prized trophy for songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the same guys behind the Oscar-winning music of La La Land and the Tony-winning Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen.

“The Greatest Showman” is an original movie musical that tells the story of how visionary P.T. Barnum created the spectacular Barnum & Bailey Circus, billed as The Greatest Show on Earth, in the early 1900s.

The soundtrack is available on Spotify.

“The Greatest Showman” is set to be released in Philippine Theaters on January 31, 2018.
