Does Attorney Mocha sound better than Senator Mocha?
Presidential Communications Assistant Secretary Margaux “Mocha” Uson announced on Twitter that starting January 2018, she would be taking up law at Arellano University.
“Starting January po mag sisimula po tayong mag aral sa Arellano University School of Law upang mas lumawak pa ang ating kaalaman sa batas,” Uson posted.

Classes start on January 13, 2018 for the second semester at Arellano University School of Law. It wasn’t stated though if the university had waived Uson’s requirement to pass the Philippine Law School Admission Test (PhiLSAT) to be able to take up law there.
Even so, Twitter user YourLawyerSays welcomed her with open arms:
I am thrilled and happy to welcome Mocha to law school! May she learn the concepts of law, the importance of human rights, and the reason behind the rule of law. May she use her knowledge for the people and for what is right and not for her personal or political agenda. 👊 pic.twitter.com/bcajDCWN1w

Her announcement came days after she was named part of the senatorial slate of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino Laban (PDP-Laban) in 2019 by House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez.
She expressed her surprise, saying she had no plans to run for pvblic office. However, she did mention that if President Rodrigo Duterte was the one to push her to, there may be a chance.
“Kung tatakbo man po ako, ito po ay [dahil] si Pangulong Duterte na mismo ang nagpatakbo sa akin dahil ang akin lamang hangarin ay matulungan ang Duterte Administration to bring the change he promised during the election,” she said.
